The Sustainable Cultural Education for Nature, Environment and Society (SCENES Framework) is an international education framework jointly established in July 2016 by senior experts, scholars, and practitioners in outdoor learning, cultural studies, and sustainable development from multiple countries. As a recognized partner in promoting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), SCENES operates as a professional framework and collaborative platform, coordinated by the SCENES Management Committee, uniting educational institutions, camp organizations, research teams, and youth communities worldwide.

We believe sustainable development is not only a global responsibility but also a vital part of youth education. Through structured learning and international collaboration, SCENES supports young people in building intercultural understanding, environmental responsibility, and civic participation—nurturing a new generation of globally competent citizens.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a globally recognized framework and certification system for youth education. Through four key pillars—the International Outdoor Camp Pact, Global Education Exchange Partnership, World Youth Programme, and Digital Certification Platform — SCENES links diverse partners, integrates high-quality resources, and ensures that both learning processes and action outcomes are credible, transparent, and internationally recognized.
Our Structure
The SCENES Framework operates under a professional committee model:
Guides strategy, international cooperation, and quality assurance.
A collaborative system of camps, schools, cultural and ecological sites working under a “co-build and co-share” model.
Provides lifelong learning records, program evaluation, and certificate issuance, directly connected with international platforms such as the SDG Actions Platform.
This structure ensures that SCENES combines strategic leadership with operational flexibility, enabling institutions and partners of different scales to engage and benefit.
Our Impact
Since its establishment in 2016, SCENES has advanced SDG-oriented projects across multiple countries, including camp development, cross-border school partnerships, thematic curriculum design, and digital certification of learning achievements. Thousands of young people have already received internationally recognized certificates and learning credits through SCENES, achieving visible growth in cultural literacy, ecological awareness, and civic engagement.
